TOUR overview

Embark on a solo adventure through the pristine forests of the Golden Stream Corridor Preserve. Choose from 7 nature trails, ranging from a quick 8-minute stroll on the Cacao Trail to a challenging 25-minute trek on the Sasil’ha Trail or Riverview Trail. Spot unique flora identified by signs along the way. 

This self-guided tour is designed for you to reconnect with nature at your own pace. Breathe in the fresh air while discovering fascinating medicinal plants. Be alert for unique bird sightings or wildlife tracks. Expect muddy boots and a good sweat – it’s all part of the adventure!  

After an invigorating time exploring the lush rainforest, cool down with a dip in the Golden Stream River. This immersive experience is the perfect way to unwind and reconnect with the natural world. So, lace up your boots and discover what the Golden Stream Corridor Preserve has in store for you!

Itinerary
  • 8:15am – Arrive at Ya’axché Field Station, Golden Stream Corridor Preserve
  • 8:30am – Depart for ecotour
  • 12:00pm – Self-guided nature ecotour concludes
  • Optional: Lunch at local Maya women’s group ($13 US per person)

Ya’axché’s Field Station is easily accessible by public transportation. However, feel free to ask us about private transportation. We will gladly assist!
