Tour overview
One of Belize’s treasures is its unique people. This immersive experience offers the best opportunity to foster a deep connection with the Maya People of Belize. You will discover first-hand that Belize’s historical roots are alive by experiencing the traditional lifestyle of the Maya people.
Join a local women’s group to discover Maya culture, arts and craft. Learn the basics of basket weaving, wood carving and weaving of traditional cuxtal bags. Cook a traditional fire hearth meal and dance to the tune of the marimba or harp.
Experience a culture that has existed in this region for thousands of years and interact with some truly wonderful women and men. Note that your traditional meal can be tailored according to your dietary restrictions and souvenirs such as baskets, wood carvings, slate carvings and handbags can be bought directly from the locals.
